A Unique Senior Session at Hidden Seed Plant Co. and Fischer Park

This senior session was such a treat! When this senior mentioned her love for Hidden Seed Plant Co. and asked if we could do part of her session there, I thought it was a great idea. Hidden Seed is this cozy little shop tucked away near Duplex and Main Street, right behind Groove Life. The owner was kind enough to let us take some photos in the shop, which made for a beautiful and unique backdrop.

I actually have a plant from Hidden Seed myself—a gift from friends for my birthday in August. I’m notorious for having a brown thumb, but three months later, it’s still alive and thriving, so I’m convinced this shop is a little bit magical. If you haven’t been there, you really should check it out!

For the second half of the session, we headed over to Fischer Park. It’s a place I know well, since it’s close to home, and we often walk our dog Mars there. While Fischer Park is mostly known for the playground, splash pad, and paved walking track, there’s a lovely little weeded area along the trail and even a hidden path down to the creek. I’d been wanting to try it as a photo spot for a while.

The path down to the creek is pretty steep—I usually slide down it on my bum—so I’d been hesitant to take families there. But I knew this senior was up for an adventure. She came prepared with sneakers to help her navigate the slope, and once we got down there, the setting was perfect. I’m so glad she was game because the photos turned out beautifully.

If you’re local to Spring Hill, I can’t recommend checking out these two spots enough. Hidden Seed is a fantastic little business to support, and Fischer Park is perfect for a walk or some fresh air. It was a pleasure to incorporate both places into this session, and I’m thrilled with how everything turned out!

Blog Post: Senior Session at Henry Horton State Park

This session was extra special because it was for the niece of one of my best friends from college! I’ve been fortunate enough to capture the senior sessions of all three of her older siblings at Henry Horton State Park, so I was excited to continue the tradition with her.

Although the session didn’t start out quite as planned, it turned into a memorable day. Both her mother and I had checked the weather several times leading up to the session, and it looked like we’d be fine. I even showed up early and was greeted by a beautiful rainbow. But, as luck would have it, about five minutes before they arrived, the sky opened up, and it started pouring rain.

Given that they had driven quite a distance, we decided to make the most of it. We started in a picnic pavilion, capturing some great moments against the rustic stone wall. From there, we got creative with my clear umbrella for some fun shots as the rain eased up.

The weather turned to light sprinkles, and by the end of the session, we were blessed with a few moments of sunshine peeking through the clouds. This lovely senior is a swimmer and had hoped to recreate some river photos we had taken for her older brother years ago. I wasn’t sure we’d be able to, but thankfully, the rain let up, and we ended the session in the river.

Despite the unpredictable weather, I’m so glad everything worked out. This was such a fun session, and I’m thrilled to have captured these memories for this amazing family!

Senior Session at Eastern Flank Battlefield Park | Franklin, TN

There’s something incredibly special about photographing the children of close friends—kids you’ve watched grow up over the years. It’s such an honor to be able to capture these big milestones in their lives. This session was particularly meaningful, as I’ve known this amazing senior for quite some time. Watching her prepare for the next chapter in life has been so exciting, and it was truly a joy to photograph her at this pivotal moment.

We chose Eastern Flank Battlefield Park in Franklin, TN for the backdrop, and it did not disappoint! The weather was perfect, and the golden light gave us the most beautiful setting. But I have to give a big shout-out to her mom, who stepped up as our very own wind machine, adding just the right amount of movement to those gorgeous shots.

I love how this session turned out. She absolutely nailed it, and I can’t wait to see what her future holds!

Senior Session at Eastern Flank Battlefield Park

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful senior girl at two of my favorite locations. We started the session by a lovely little creek. I absolutely adore this spot, but it can be unpredictable. I once tried to take my own daughter there for photos, only to find it completely flooded! Thankfully, for this session, the weather was on our side, and the creek rocks were perfectly accessible, making for some beautiful, serene shots.

Afterward, we moved on to Eastern Flank Battlefield Park. This location never disappoints, with its picturesque garden behind the event center and expansive fields that beautifully frame the sky at sunset. The combination of these two settings provided a wonderful variety of backdrops, showcasing the senior’s personality and style.

I’m so glad we could capture these moments in such stunning locations, and I can’t wait to share more from this session!
