Ten Years of This Family at Marcelle Vivrette Smith Park

This family pointed out during this session that I’ve been photographing their family for ten years.😶🩷

Ten years of watching these three sisters grow up in front of my camera. Ten years of them trusting me to show up and capture whatever season they’re in. That’s not something I take lightly, and honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts of this job — the clients who come back year after year and let me be a small part of their story.

This family is also just easy. No coaxing, no convincing anyone to smile, no wrangling. They know each other so well that I can just point them toward a spot and let them exist together, and that’s where the good stuff happens. My favorite images from every single session with them are the ones where the sisters are interacting — teasing each other, leaning on each other, just being sisters.

The real challenge with a family I’ve shot this many times? Finding somewhere new. This time we landed on Marcelle Vivrette Smith Park in Franklin, and it turned out to be a great late-summer pick — open fields, good light, plenty of spots that felt fresh even for a family I know so well behind the lens.

Sessions like this are exactly why I love what I do. Here’s to ten more years.

Want to start your own decade of family photos? Book a session — I’d love to be part of your story too.
