I’m not sure how it is possible that I had never heard of Aspen Grove Park until recently. Whitney is one of my oldest and dearest clients, who supported me way back before I was a professional. She likes to find new and interesting places for family sessions, and I really appreciate that because it is easier for me to shoot a location for the first time with someone I know and am comfortable with.
A few weeks ago, she asked me if I had ever shot at Aspen Grove Park. It was a funny coincidence because right about that same time, another friend had asked on Facebook about pretty places to walk in the Cool Springs area, and several people mentioned Aspen Grove. I had never heard of it before, and made a mental note to check it out, so when Whitney mentioned it, it sounded perfect.
I can’t believe I’ve never been there before, or heard it mentioned in my photographers forums. It is a lovely location! There are several pretty bridges, lots of greenery, and there is this one spot where the light comes through the trees at just the perfect angle!! I am definitely adding this to my list of go-to portrait locations. So do you guys know of any other spots that I am missing and should be checking out? I’d love some tips!
And can we just talk about those red Converse Chuck Taylor’s for a minute? I am so in love with the combination of her beautiful red dress with those shoes. ❤️
